About Blue Ridge Well Pump

We are a referral service. We connect homeowners in Western North Carolina who have well problems with independent well contractors who serve their area. We do not drill wells, repair pumps, or send our own crews.

In plain terms: you fill out a short form. We pass your request to one independent well contractor serving your ZIP code. They contact you, give you an estimate, and do the work if you hire them. It is free for you, and you are never obligated to hire anyone.

What this website is

This site has two jobs. The first is to give well owners in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, and nearby counties clear, sourced information about well pump repair, pump replacement, pressure tanks, drilling, and costs. The second is to route people who want help to a contractor, instead of making them search through directories.

Every number we publish about prices comes from another company's or agency's published page, and we say so. We list those sources on the pages where the numbers appear. They are estimates, not quotes from us, and we have no way of guaranteeing what any contractor will charge.

How matching works

  1. You submit a request. We ask for your name, phone number, ZIP code, town, and a short description of the problem. Email is optional.
  2. You agree to share your details. The form has a checkbox. By ticking it, you agree to be contacted about your request and for your details to be shared with one independent well contractor serving your area.
  3. We choose one contractor by location. We use your ZIP code and town to pick a contractor who serves your road. Only that contractor receives your details.
  4. The contractor reaches out. They ask questions, schedule a visit, and quote the job. The contractor, not us, sets the price and does the work.
  5. You decide. Compare their estimate with the ranges in our cost guide, and get other quotes if you want.

We cannot promise a response time or that a contractor will be available on your date. In an emergency, you should also contact contractors directly. Our no water from well page lists safe checks you can do while you wait.

Why it is free for homeowners

You do not pay us. We may receive compensation from the contractor who receives your request. That arrangement does not change the price you pay the contractor for the work, and it does not give a contractor the right to claim our endorsement.

What we do not do

  • We do not perform well work and we do not employ well contractors.
  • We do not guarantee any contractor's work, prices, or availability.
  • We do not publish customer reviews or ratings. We have none to publish, and we will not invent any.
  • We do not claim years of experience, awards, or certifications for ourselves. We are a referral service, not a contractor.
  • We do not give legal, electrical, or engineering advice. Our guides explain what published sources say, and a certified contractor should assess your well.
  • We do not list a street address. We serve a region, and our service areas page explains where.

What we expect of the contractors who get requests

North Carolina requires well contractors to be certified under General Statute 87, Article 7A, with limited exemptions such as licensed plumbing contractors installing pumps. We ask that any contractor receiving a request confirm that they hold the required certification or license for the work they perform. You should still ask to see it, and you can search for certified contractors by county on the state's NCDHHS site.

Where our information comes from

Our guides rely on primary sources where possible: North Carolina General Statutes and administrative rules, U.S. Geological Survey studies of Blue Ridge wells, the National Hurricane Center's report on Hurricane Helene, the U.S. Census Bureau, N.C. Cooperative Extension, NCDHHS, and county health department pages. Cost figures come from published pages by North Carolina well companies and guides, which we identify. If you see something wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it.
